Foundational and learning objectives for Science and the Common Essential Learnings
This is not a unit as outlined by the Saskatchewan Governments curriculum, but has been brought forward to ensure the students have a solid understanding of the skills required to complete this course and future endeavors in the area of secondary science.

Understanding the Scientific Process
  1. Understand the importance of keeping good notes.
  2. Learn the fundamentals of proper lab recording.
  3. Learn proper graphing technique.
  4. Make conversions using the dimensional analysis technique
  5. Understand how to identify significant figures
  6. Determine how many significant figures exist after mathematical procedures are conducted
  7. Understand how to manipulate scientific equations to find unknown values
  8. Determine percent yield given theoretical and actual yields
  9. Identify total population, sample population, or percentage if supplied with two of the three pieces of data
