Curriculum Objectives in the Waves Unit

 

Visual with the stroboscope: When a strobe is running and placed on something like a fan, if the flashes occur just prior to the blade reaching the spot where it was located before the previous flash, the fan will give the impression that it is moving backwards.

Challenge issued:

A.   Explain why this phenomenon is occurring.
B.   Develop a procedure that would enable you to determine the frequency of the stroboscope (this is similar to the tickertape challenge on the first day of waves, but left more open ended).
