Day 5&6 The Bay of Fundy

Lindsey entering New Brunswick

Aaron entering New Brunswick

Our first view of the Bay of Fundy, inside the National Park

We had to run down to the water as soon as we got there.

Something Aaron built while we explored the bay.

Sitting on the rocks that are usually under water.

The sun setting on the bay near our campsite while the tide rolled out.

Steaks on the Bar-b-que

A glass of wine with the steak platter.

Lindsey likes her steak a little more
well done, but the sun was down and
we couldn't really tell how rare they were
until we saw the photos later.

Lindsey enjoying a "glass" of wine.

The big dipper as seen through trees that are illuminated by the
flames from our camp fire.

Our little tent in the park.

Up early for a morning hike.

A view of the Bay of Fundy from the hiking trail.

Pictures on our hike, Lindsey at the mouth of the old mine shaft and Aaron in a tree.

The tide when it is out, and the tide when it is in. View from the Hopewell Rocks.

The kayak adventure booth...more pictures to come.

Lindsey with the flower pot rock formations at the Hopewell park.

Lindsey stands where we will kayak in a few hours.

Aaron stands where Lindsey did...people keep pouring in.

Sea weed to the left and right.

This kid fell down in the mud and we needed to get a picture of him.

More rocks

Us between rocks

Aaron by a carpet of seaweed. There is a difference of 15m
between high and low tide here, at the end of the bay the difference
is an astonishing 18m.

Lindsey in a cave that will be completely
submerged later in the day.

Lindsey between two rocks again.

Looking back at the Hopewell Rocks.

Lindsey's little legs are tired and she needs to rest.

The last photos we took at low tide at Hopewell rocks.

An old barn along the bay.

View from our picnic...what you can't see
are the swarms of little flies.

Pictures taken throughout the day of the tide as it worked its way in.

The rocks where that picture of Lindsey and Aaron
standing had been taken earlier.

Picture of the rocks we had been walking around at low tide.

The kayak group before us.

Getting suited up for our kayak experience.

Lindsey in the kayak.

Aaron in the kayak

The next morning we went for another hike,
this is one of the waterfalls we encountered.

A picture of both of us at the observation deck.

The foot of the falls.

The little fishing village outside of the park.

To the left is fresh lobster, to the right is the souvenir shop with our little blue rental parked outside.

Aaron appears to be a little worried about  what these pirates might do to him...Lindsey doesn't appear to be quite as nervous.
