Day 1&2 Toronto and Ottawa

The trip begins with a flight from Regina
to Toronto Ontario (2nd class tickets)

Lindsey looks off the balcony at cousin Jen's condo in Toronto

The view of the sun setting over the Toronto skyline

Cousin Jen and Lindsey unwinding

A picture of Jordan with his dad, Roger, then a picture of Jordan with cousin Aaron

Day one ends with a quick jaunt downtown for
something to eat, then off to bed...there is a long
road ahead

After having breakfast with Jen, we headed to Ottawa
where we took a picture of Lindsey outside the Parliament buildings

Aaron outside the peace tower

Lindsey shows off our tour tickets...a quick trip through the metal detectors and we
are inside the building where all the magic happens

To the left is a picture of the ceiling you would see before entering the room to the right. Do you recognize it?
Unfortunately the house was not sitting when we were there (Insert comment to prove your whit here)

And here is a picture of the ceiling entering the senate
Some of the panels are the coat of arms for the provinces created in stain glass

This is where the Senate meets, look at how comfortable those
seats look! They have to be in order for one to get a really good sleep.

Lindsey looks out the peace tower towards the West Block, the the right is a close-up of the West Block...the
little white tent is where we got our tickets for the tour...it was a good tour...it was free.

After having breakfast with Jen, we headed to Ottawa
where we took a picture of Lindsey outside the Parliament buildings

A picture of Lindsey outside the Parliament
in front of the flower garden.

A picture looking down the locks leading
to the Ottawa River from the Rideau Canal

We grab a quick bite at Nate's Deli before the big show
at the Parliament begins

The speakers played music and quotes from influential contributors to the history of Canada while
lights and images danced across this grand building...

It was quite romantic!

The day ended with a mad dash to find a place to stay...but it did not work out the way we had planned. We had
to crash in the car and it was over 30 degrees Celsius that day. We woke up in a parking lot at Herb's truck stop.
Lindsey had a shower and I checked the GPS...we were only 15min from Hawkesbury, and little did we know my
exchange sister, Vicki, stayed up that night waiting for our call.
